As you may know, bosses in Elden Ring are divided into three tiers. From lowest to highest: Field Bosses, Greater Enemy Bosses and finally Demigods and Legends.

The Guardian Golem is in the lowest tier, Field Bosses, and can be found in the dungeon called Highroad Cave in northern Limgrave. The cave is very dark, so it's a good idea to bring some sort of light source with you, such as a torch or lantern that can be purchased at several merchants throughout the Lands Between.

The dungeon itself is longer than most – or perhaps it just felt that way because I did in fact not bring a light source with me, so I spent quite some time fumbling around in the dark and getting ambushed by vampire bats and other unpleasant cave dwellers.

The boss itself is similar to those golems you may have encountered outdoors in a couple of places before. It's surprisingly easy to fight as it moves and attacks rather slowly and seems to not be able to really target you a lot of the time. If you keep attacking its ankles, it is likely to fall to the ground and stay there for several seconds, completely open to free hits.

Unlike the large and very aggressive trolls you have encountered outdoors, the golem is actually not very likely to try to stomp on you, even though it moves its feet around a lot. I'm pretty sure From Software has based these attacks on candid camera footage of me trying to kill a spider on a Sunday morning while hungover – I usually fall down, and the spider wins in the end too.

The boss will also try to hit you with his big club/hammer thing. It's not very difficult to avoid as these attacks are pretty slow as well. Just keep attacking the Golem's feet and it'll go down without too many issues. I actually found getting through the dungeon and to the boss more difficult than the boss itself in this case ;-)
