Elden Ring: Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader (Ringleader's Evergaol) Boss Fight

Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader is in the lowest tier of bosses in Elden Ring, Field Bosses, and is found inside the Ringleader’s Evergaol in the South-Western part of Liurnia of the Lakes, which is only accessible if you have progressed Ranni’s questline far enough. It is an optional boss in the sense that you do not need to kill it to advance the main story, but it drops one of the best spirit ashes in the game, so it is worth defeating it if you like to summon assistance.
As you probably know, bosses in Elden Ring are divided into three tiers. From lowest to highest: Field Bosses, Greater Enemy Bosses and finally Demigods and Legends.

I had read in advance that many people consider this one of the hardest bosses in the game. I can’t say that I have tried all of them yet, but so far, it’s definitely up there. Its speed and aggressiveness combined with a huge health pool and at least two different mechanics that would one-shot me most of the time made defeating this boss a grueling task.
So much so in fact, that after I believe 40 or 50 deaths, I decided enough was enough and then attempted to use an exploit tactic to defeat it as I was simply not having fun anymore. That is the successful attempt you will see in this video. I’m fully aware that this is not the way this boss is meant to be fought, but I play games to have fun and relax, and at this point I just wanted to move forward. So, if you’re in the same situation, this may be an approach you can use as well.
Basically, you need to get the boss stuck between a rock and the evergaol’s barrier, then it will just keep walking into you without attacking and you can easily put it in its place. It may take a few attempts to get the positioning exactly right, but once you do it’s easy.
I play as a mostly Dexterity build. My melee weapon is the Guardian’s Swordspear with Keen affinity and Chilling Mist Ash of War. My ranged weapons are the Longbow and the Shortbow. I was level 102 when this video was recorded. I’m not really sure if that is generally considered appropriate, but this particular fight definitely seemed difficult enough. For the general area this evergaol is located in, I would say it felt fairly reasonable – I want the sweet spot that isn’t mind-numbing easy mode, but also not so difficult that I will be stuck on the same boss for hours ;-)
