Elden Ring: Beastman of Farum Azula Duo (Dragonbarrow Cave) Boss Fight

Beastman of Farum Azula is in the lowest tier of bosses, Field Bosses, and two of them serve as the end bosses of the Dragonbarrow Cave in Dragonbarrow. Like most lesser bosses in the game, these are optional in the sense that you do not need to defeat them in order to advance the main story.

As you probably know, bosses in Elden Ring are divided into three tiers. From lowest to highest: Field Bosses, Greater Enemy Bosses and finally Demigods and Legends.

Beastman of Farum Azula is in the lowest tier, Field Bosses, and two of them serve as the end bosses of the Dragonbarrow Cave in Dragonbarrow. Like most lesser bosses in the game, these are optional in the sense that you do not need to defeat them in order to advance the main story.

I guess they should really be called Beastmen of Farum Azula when there’s two of them, but no matter.

Individually, they’re not particularly tough, but this duo is a bit annoying because one will go melee, while the other throws knives at you. As usual when there is more than one boss in a fight, I prefer to have some backup to make it all less confusing, so I called in Black Knife Tiche.

In hindsight, I’m pretty sure I could have managed on my own as the knife-throwing boss turned out to be really squishy and could be focused down very quickly, but it never hurts to have a friend to watch your back with these suspicious boss-types lurking around in caves where I like to go to collect loot ;-)

And now for the usual boring details about my character. I play as a mostly Dexterity build. My melee weapon is the Guardian’s Swordspear with Keen affinity and Chilling Mist Ash of War. My shield is the Great Turtle Shell, which I mostly wear for the stamina recovery. I was level 120 when this video was recorded. I’m not sure if that’s generally considered too high for these bosses. Maybe a little, but then again, everything in Dragonbarrow seems to kill me really easily too, so it only seems fair. I’m always looking for the sweet spot where it’s not mind-numbing easy mode, but also not so difficult that I will be stuck on the same boss for hours ;-)
