Elden Ring: Fallingstar Beast (Sellia Crystal Tunnel) Boss Fight

Fallingstar Beast is in the lowest tier of bosses in Elden Ring, Field Bosses, and is the end boss of the dungeon called Sellia Crystal Tunnel in Caelid. Like most lesser bosses in the game, this one is optional in the sense that you do not need to kill it in order to progress the main story.

As you probably know, bosses in Elden Ring are divided into three tiers. From lowest to highest: Field Bosses, Greater Enemy Bosses and finally Demigods and Legends.

Fallingstar Beast is in the lowest tier, Field Bosses, and is the end boss of the dungeon called Sellia Crystal Tunnel in Caelid. Like most lesser bosses in the game, this one is optional in the sense that you do not need to kill it in order to progress the main story.

The Fallingstar Beast is a huge… well, beast, that appears to be made from rock or crystals. It has bull-like behavior in that it likes to charge people and poke them with its horns. But the horns can also be used to pinch people and give them a painful squeeze, which is something I’ve never seen a bull do.

It will also lash people with its long tail and just in case you hadn’t noticed, that thing has thorns on it. Huge ones. And sharp too. All in all, I highly recommend staying away from it, or getting someone who lives inside heavy armor to block it for you. And I’m actually thinking of a certain someone who could use a good lashing to remind him that he’s alive and better stay that way while we’re fighting bosses.

In addition to charging, pinching and tail-lashing, it also has several magical tricks that can cause explosions from the ground around it. That’s quite painful to get caught in, so I decided that Banished Knight Engvall was a more appropriate damage sponge than myself, therefore I called him in to once again soak up the bulk of it and hope he didn’t embarrass himself by dying again while I was off to the side for a refreshing sip of Crimson Tears.

I play as a mostly Dexterity build. My melee weapon is the Guardian’s Swordspear with Keen affinity and Sacred Blade Ash of War. My ranged weapons are Longbow and Shortbow. I was rune level 78 when this video was recorded. I’m not really sure if that is generally considered appropriate, but the difficulty of the game seems reasonable to me. I typically don’t grind levels, but I do very thoroughly explore each area before moving on and then gain whatever Runes that provide. I play entirely solo, so I’m not looking to stay within a certain level range for matchmaking. I don’t want mind-numbing easy-mode, but I’m also not looking for anything too challenging as I get enough of that at work and in life outside of gaming. I play games to have fun and relax, not to be stuck on the same boss for days ;-)
