Elden Ring: Death Rite Bird (Caelid) Boss Fight

Death Rite Bird is in the lowest tier of bosses in Elden Ring, Field Bosses, and is found outdoors in Caelid, just across the road from the Southern Aeonia Swamp Bank Site of Grace. It only spawns at night, so just pass time until Nightfall. Like most lesser bosses in the game, this one is optional in the sense that you do not need to kill it in order to advance the main story.

As you probably know, bosses in Elden Ring are divided into three tiers. From lowest to highest: Field Bosses, Greater Enemy Bosses and finally Demigods and Legends.

Death Rite Bird is in the lowest tier, Field Bosses, and is found outdoors in Caelid, just across the road from the Southern Aeonia Swamp Bank Site of Grace. It only spawns at night, so just pass time until Nightfall. Like most lesser bosses in the game, this one is optional in the sense that you do not need to kill it in order to advance the main story.

This is not the first Death Rite Bird I’ve encountered and fought, so I know it’s critically weak to Holy Damage. My Sacred Blade Ash of War really shines here, and after some attempts where I had tried to drag out the fight a bit for some more interesting combat, only to get ganked by the bird’s insane Frostbite damage and quick hits, I decided to just nuke it down quickly and get it over with. No point in dragging out the inevitable.

As far as I could tell, the bird has exactly the same abilities as the one I previously fought in Liurnia, although it seems to have more health and do higher damage, but that is to be expected. Without a Holy based weapon, I can imagine this fight being much, much harder though ;-)
