Elden Ring: Erdtree Avatar (South-West Liurnia of the Lakes) Boss Fight

Erdtree Avatar is in the lowest tier of bosses in Elden Ring, Field Bosses, and is found near the Minor Erdtree in the South-Western part of Liurnia of the Lakes. Like most lesser bosses in the game, this one is optional in the sense that you do not need to kill it in order to advance the main story.

As you probably know, bosses in Elden Ring are divided into three tiers. From lowest to highest: Field Bosses, Greater Enemy Bosses and finally Demigods and Legends.

Erdtree Avatar is in the lowest tier, Field Bosses, and is found near the Minor Erdtree in the South-Western part of Liurnia of the Lakes. Like most lesser bosses in the game, this one is optional in the sense that you do not need to kill it in order to advance the main story.

As this is the third Erdtree Avatar I have the questionable joy of fighting, I wasn’t in the mood for dragging it out longer than necessary, so remembering how well he did on the second one, I decided to call in my good old pal Banished Knight Engvall to turn the fight into easy mode.

And he sure did, it felt even easier than the second one and went down much faster than I expected. It really helps to have a knight soak up some of the pain, so I can focus on swinging my sword-spear around wildly and hope to hit something.

I suppose this Erdtree Avatar has the same abilities as the others, but I can’t say for sure, as I didn’t see it use any of its magical attacks. It sure likes to swing the huge hammer-like object at people though, but it spared me the explosions and medieval laser beams. Between Engvall and myself, we even managed to break its stance and although I didn’t manage to hit the weak spot just right, it was soon dead thereafter. I almost felt sorry for it. “Almost” being the keyword here ;-)
