Godskin Apostle is in the lowest tier of bosses in Elden Ring, Field Bosses, and is found outdoors near the top of the hill in Dominula Windmill Village in Northern Altus Plateau. Like most lesser bosses in the game, this one is optional in the sense that you do not need to defeat it in order to advance the main story.
As you probably know, bosses in Elden Ring are divided into three tiers. From lowest to highest: Field Bosses, Greater Enemy Bosses and finally Demigods and Legends.
Godskin Apostle is in the lowest tier, Field Bosses, and is found outdoors near the top of the hill in Dominula Windmill Village in Northern Altus Plateau. Like most lesser bosses in the game, this one is optional in the sense that you do not need to defeat it in order to advance the main story.
When you approach the top of the village, this boss will already be wandering around, so make sure to approach slowly and clear out the lesser enemies in the area or you may find yourself surrounded by angry celebrants very quickly.
I found this boss to be quite a fun and duel-like fight, although I think I’m generally over-leveled for Altus Plateau, so it felt a bit easier than it should have, but not too far off. The boss would also take about half my health in a single hit, so it was not like I could just swap damage with it for very long.
The boss is an agile fighter that jumps around a lot and also has several ranged abilities, so it’s important to stay alert and move out of the way. Most of its attacks are well-telegraphed and not too difficult to avoid, and overall I got the feeling of a reasonably balanced fight without too many cheap shots from the boss’s side.
And now for the usual boring details about my character: I play as a mostly Dexterity build. My melee weapon is the Guardian’s Swordspear with Keen affinity and Chilling Mist Ash of War. My shield is the Great Turtle Shell, which I mostly wear for the stamina recovery. I was level 110 when this video was recorded. I believe that’s somewhat too high as the boss took a lot of damage from my hits, but I still found the fight fun, albeit a bit easy. I’m always looking for the sweet spot where it’s not mind-numbing easy mode, but also not so difficult that I will be stuck on the same boss for hours ;-)
