Elden Ring: Fallingstar Beast (Hinterland) Boss Fight (SOTE)

Fallingstar Beast is in the lowest tier of bosses in Elden Ring, Field Bosses, and is found in the Hinterland area. It is an optional boss in the sense that it does not need to be defeated in order to progress the main story of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.
As you probably know, bosses in Elden Ring are divided into three tiers. From lowest to highest: Field Bosses, Greater Enemy Bosses and finally Demigods and Legends.
Fallingstar Beast is in the lowest tier, Field Bosses, and is found in the Hinterland area. It is an optional boss in the sense that it does not need to be defeated in order to progress the main story of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.
As I was exploring the rather hostile Hinterland area, I came across a big crater in the ground. A crater usually means that something big and heavy fell there and as I approached, the culprit made itself seen. As I expected, because I have faced this annoying kind of creature before, it was a Fallingstar Beast. Time for glorious battle.
Well, perhaps “glorious battle” is a bit much, but at least it was time to call in my usual sidekick, Black Knife Tiche, for some assistance and to help speed things up and hopefully keep headless chicken mode to a minimum.
As mentioned, I have fought several of these Fallingstar Beasts before and there tends to be a lot of running around, shooting people with lightning, pinching people with pincers, and just overall a really bad atmosphere for everybody besides the beast, who appears to have the time of its life. Or at least as good as time as one can have after falling from the stars, making a huge crater, and then being attacked by the first Tarnished who just so happens to wander by. I’m pretty sure I would be in a foul mood and wanting to pinch someone too.
Just as I was about to put the giant beast out of its misery, it managed to grab me with its pincers, lift me up into the air and squeeze the life out of me. As I was lying on the ground, drawing my final breath and contemplating the rather embarrassing situation, Tiche managed to land the killing blow, so I wouldn’t even get a do-over. Double embarrassing.
And now for the usual boring details about my character. I play as a mostly Dexterity build. My melee weapons are the Rivers of Blood and the Uchigatana with Keen affinity. I was level 212 and Scadutree Blessing 15 when this video was recorded, which I think is reasonable for this boss. I’m always looking for the sweet spot where it’s not mind-numbing easy mode, but also not so difficult that I will be stuck on the same boss for hours ;-)
