Elden Ring: Necromancer Garris (Sage's Cave) Boss Fight

Necromancer Garris is in the lowest tier of bosses in Elden Ring, Field Bosses, and is the end boss of the Sage’s Cave dungeon found in the Western part of Altus Plateau. He is an optional boss in the sense that you do not need to defeat him in order to advance the main story of the game.

As you probably know, bosses in Elden Ring are divided into three tiers. From lowest to highest: Field Bosses, Greater Enemy Bosses and finally Demigods and Legends.

I’ll be the first to admit that summoning Tiche for this fight was completely uncalled for, as it was very easy and the boss died very quickly. At this point, I had still only recently gotten access to Tiche and was still curious to try her out in battle, but in this fight it just seems silly. The necromancer did have what appeared to be an undead snail for backup though, so it was fair enough that I had help too. But Tiche beats an undead snail any day ;-)

And now for the usual boring details about my character: I play as a mostly Dexterity build. My melee weapon is the Guardian’s Swordspear with Keen affinity and Chilling Mist Ash of War. My ranged weapons are the Longbow and the Shortbow. I was level 105 when this video was recorded. I would say that’s way too high for this boss as he died very quickly. I’m always looking for the sweet spot where it’s not mind-numbing easy mode, but also not so difficult that I will be stuck on the same boss for hours ;-)
