Elden Ring: Roundtable Knight Vyke (Lord Contender's Evergaol) Boss Fight

Roundtable Knight Vyke is in the lowest tier of bosses in Elden Ring, Field Bosses, and is the boss and only enemy found in the Lord Contender’s Evergaol in Mountaintops of the Giants. Like most lesser bosses, defeating him is optional in the sense that it is not required in order to progress the main story of the game.
As you probably know, bosses in Elden Ring are divided into three tiers. From lowest to highest: Field Bosses, Greater Enemy Bosses and finally Demigods and Legends.
Roundtable Knight Vyke is in the lowest tier, Field Bosses, and is the boss and only enemy found in the Lord Contender’s Evergaol in Mountaintops of the Giants. Like most lesser bosses, defeating him is optional in the sense that it is not required in order to progress the main story of the game.
This boss is a fast and agile warrior who likes to poke people with a spear and shock them with lightning. Well, two can play at that game, since I recently switched the Ash of War on my trusty Swordspear to Thunderbolt instead of Spectral Lance, after I realized that lightning scales with dexterity. About time, I know, but better late than never.
I found this fight to be pretty fun and fast-paced. The major things to watch out for are some of his bigger lightning attacks, especially the lightning storm, where it’s best to just keep your distance and plot your next devious move.
He moves quite fast and has fairly long reach with his spear, so make sure to dodge accordingly. In turn, he is also quite good at dodging, so he can be difficult to hit. Overall, he’s sufficiently annoying to be considered a boss, although not a particularly difficult one. Or maybe I’m just over-leveled for this content.
According to lore, Vyke was the Tarnished who prior to the arrival of the true main character was closest to become Elden Lord, which also explains the name of the evergaol he’s imprisoned in. I’m not sure why attempting to become Elden Lord would get one imprisoned eternally, but I do know that if anyone tries to pull that crap on me, they will have to discuss it with my swordspear first. I already know how that discussion will end and it’s certainly not with me in an evergaol.
And now for the usual boring details about my character. I play as a mostly Dexterity build. My melee weapon is the Guardian’s Swordspear with Keen affinity and Thunderbolt Ash of War. My shield is the Great Turtle Shell, which I mostly wear for the stamina recovery. I was level 146 when this video was recorded, which I think is a bit high for this content. I’m always looking for the sweet spot where it’s not mind-numbing easy mode, but also not so difficult that I will be stuck on the same boss for hours ;-)
