The largest open flower occupies the right foreground and is viewed from slightly above and at close range. It has numerous overlapping creamy-white petals, with long narrow outer petals extending outward and showing subtle pale pink to tan coloration near their bases and edges. The center contains a dense cluster of fine golden-yellow stamens surrounding a pale central structure. A second large white flower appears behind it toward the left-center, partially overlapping the foliage, while several elongated unopened flower buds are visible around the composition, including prominent buds at the upper left and lower left. The cactus stems form a dense vertical and diagonal background, with irregular segmented edges and a matte green surface. Bright filtered light enters from the upper left, illuminating the flowers and producing warm highlights through the petals while leaving portions of the foliage in shadow.
