A landscape-oriented close-up photograph of a compact, densely branched flowering shrub growing in a mulched garden bed. The plant fills most of the frame and has numerous thin, woody brown stems extending outward and upward from the center, creating a broad, rounded form consistent with recent pruning or compact growth. The branches carry many small, glossy to slightly matte, oval-to-elliptical green leaves, ranging from dark green mature foliage to brighter yellow-green new growth near the tips. Numerous vivid purple to magenta flowers are distributed throughout the shrub. The flowers are small and predominantly tubular at the base with flared, rounded petals; some are fully open while others remain as narrow buds. The highest concentration of blossoms is across the upper and central portions of the plant, with additional flowers extending toward both sides. The shrub is planted directly in dark brown soil covered with coarse organic mulch composed of irregular pieces of bark and wood.
