Image description
A landscape-oriented, ground-level photograph of a garden bed covered with a light layer of dry winter mulch. Numerous clusters of broad, pointed green shoots emerge vertically through the mulch across the foreground and middle ground. Many of the shoots have dark purple to reddish-purple coloration near their bases, transitioning to medium and bright green toward their tips. The largest and most prominent cluster is slightly right of center, with several thick, upright leaves surrounded by smaller shoots. Additional clusters appear along the left side, center, right side, and farther back in the bed. Behind them are dormant plants with numerous upright tan-brown stems and dried flower heads, along with darker green evergreen vegetation. The foreground is dominated by the detailed textures of the mulch and emerging foliage, while the background is somewhat softer. No people, containers, labels, signs, logos, brands, or readable text are visible.
