Elden Ring: Tibia Mariner (Wyndham Ruins) Boss Fight

Tibia Mariner is in the lowest tier of bosses in Elden Ring, Field Bosses, and is found sailing in the shallow waters at Wyndham Ruins in the Western part of Altus Plateau. It is an optional boss in the sense that you do not need to kill it in order to advance the main story of the game.

As you probably know, bosses in Elden Ring are divided into three tiers. From lowest to highest: Field Bosses, Greater Enemy Bosses and finally Demigods and Legends.

Tibia Mariner is in the lowest tier, Field Bosses, and is found sailing in the shallow waters at Wyndham Ruins in the Western part of Altus Plateau. It is an optional boss in the sense that you do not need to kill it in order to advance the main story of the game.

The last time I faced one of these Tibia Mariner type people, it was doing some James Bond stuff with a boat that could sail on land, so I fully expected more shenanigans of that variety this time and had vivid visions of myself running around searching for the boss. Like all Tibia Mariners, this one does teleport away when it starts to feel the pain of a swordspear to the face, but at least there was no sailing on land that I could tell.

I don’t think it was really necessary to summon help for this boss, but as I had only just recently gotten access to Black Knife Tiche, I was eager to see her in action. And also, the Tibia Mariner summoned a huge skeleton that shoots medieval lasers from its eyes, so I’m pretty sure I’m allowed to have some assistance on my team as well. As it turns out, Tiche is excellent at dealing damage and staying alive, but she is not a great tank as she often teleports around and drops aggro herself. Still, it’s nice to have some different options for different type bosses and I’m sure Tiche will be useful in the future.

As usual when fighting this type of boss, you will have to deal with numerous other undeads as well. And they’re the annoying kind that won’t stay dead unless you hit them again while they’re glowing on the ground. Unless you kill them with a holy weapon, but as my usual luck would have it, I had just recently swapped the Ash of War on my weapon from Sacred Blade to Chilling Mist. All that does is slow them down a bit and possibly give them a mild cold, but nothing that will prevent them from getting up and being their usual annoying selves after a few seconds

And now for the usual boring details about my character. I play as a mostly Dexterity build. My melee weapon is the Guardian’s Swordspear with Keen affinity and Chilling Mist Ash of War. My ranged weapons are the Longbow and the Shortbow. I was level 104 when this video was recorded. I would say that’s a bit too high as this boss felt quite easy, but it’s the level I happened to have reached organically by the time I got to it ;-)
