Elden Ring: Cleanrot Knights (Spear and Sickle) (Abandoned Cave) Boss Fight

This Cleanrot Knight duo are in the lowest tier of bosses in Elden Ring, Field Bosses, and are the end bosses of the dungeon called Abandoned Cave in Caelid. Like most lesser bosses in the game, these are optional in the sense that you do not need to kill them in order to advance the main story.

As you probably know, bosses in Elden Ring are divided into three tiers. From lowest to highest: Field Bosses, Greater Enemy Bosses and finally Demigods and Legends.

This Cleanrot Knight duo are in the lowest tier, Field Bosses, and are the end bosses of the dungeon called Abandoned Cave in Caelid. Like most lesser bosses in the game, these are optional in the sense that you do not need to kill them in order to advance the main story.

These cleanrot knights are not much more difficult than the ones you have already encountered if you have been to Swamp of Aeonia before, but the dungeon itself is one of the most horrible places I’ve been to in the game. I was infected with Scarlet Rot, poisoned, electrocuted by a huge flower, ambushed by rats and stabbed in the back on my way to the bosses, so I was obviously highly annoyed and in no mood for bosses ganging up on me as well. Therefore, I decided to once again call in Banished Knight Engvall for support and he made the fight quite simple. Even though there was even more Scarlet Rot.

I play as a mostly Dexterity build. My melee weapon is the Guardian’s Swordspear with Keen affinity and Sacred Blade Ash of War. My ranged weapons are Longbow and Shortbow. I was rune level 78 when this video was recorded. I’m not really sure if that would be considered appropriate, but the difficulty of the game seems reasonable to me. I typically don’t grind levels, but I do very thoroughly explore each area before moving on and then gain whatever Runes that provide. I play entirely solo, so I’m not looking to stay within a certain level range for matchmaking. I don’t want mind-numbing easy-mode, but I’m also not looking for anything too challenging as I get enough of that at work and in life outside of gaming. I play games to have fun and relax, not to be stuck on the same boss for days ;-)
